A new hotel at Bridge Street and an industrial expansion in Jetplex top the list of non-residential permits for the month of July. Residential permits more than doubled year-over-year.

Non-Residential Permits Over $100,000 in Huntsville city limits

Orange: Contract amount greater than $1 Million

Residential Permits (new construction) in Huntsville city limits:

In July, 141 housing units were permitted, including 101 single- and 40 multi-family units. The top tract for building permits last month was 212 (Greenbrier), where 41 units were permitted, 5 single- and 36 multi-family. This is a 110.4% increase over July 2015, when 67 housing units (all single-family) were permitted.

Residential Certificates of Occupancy (new construction) in Huntsville city limits:

97 housing units were granted certificates of occupancy (CO’s), including 73 single- and 24 multi-family units. The top tract for CO’s in the month of July was 106.22 (Providence) where 26 housing units were added, 2 single- and 24 multi-family. This is a 21.3% increase over July 2015, when 80 housing units (74 single-family and 6 multi-family) were granted CO’s.
